Johanna’s passion for the ocean and coastal cultures has driven her remarkable journey from cruise director on Nataraja and Senja in 2018 to partner in 2023. Thanks to her invaluable experience on boats, Johanna has cultivated extensive expertise in the Indonesian seas and local populations, and her infectious enthusiasm has captivated all those with whom she has worked. Her multifaceted role includes recruiting and training crew, overseeing all the operations, and ensuring meticulous yacht maintenance. A French master marine carpenter and sailor, Yann’s heart beats for the Indonesian Archipelago. He has sailed over 100,000 nautical miles in the area and specializes in Phinisi boat building, an art recognized by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Yann has designed and built five Phinisi ketches in Bira since 2009, working alongside his team of skilled shipwrights and boat builders in a spirit of mutual trust and respect. He ensures the finest quality with full control over every stage of the process: concept, design, construction and launch. A bold visionary, Yann is expanding into real estate with waterfront and resort developments, with an eye on the Indonesian aviation industry.

A love for the sea matched only by their love for each other, this successful couple have been passionate sailors since they were children. Charlotte honed her maritime expertise sailing alongside her parents and participating in many regattas, while Peter joined the Danish merchant navy and crossed the Atlantic Ocean four times aboard the Danmark, a legendary full-rigged ship built in the 1930s. When the couple crossed paths with Yann aboard one of his Phinisi yachts during a holiday cruise in Raja Ampat, the connection was instant. Kindred spirits, the magnetic force of their shared passions, mutual beliefs and core values drew them together. Thus, the Pacific High adventure was born.

Originally from Labuan Bajo, Herry is a veteran in the boat industry, guiding the first expeditions in remote Eastern Indonesia as early as 1996. Having worked on the finest luxury liveaboards in the archipelago over the last three decades, he joined Pacific High in 2022 as a cruise director, drawn by the slogan ‘Humans & The Sea’. Herry is also very enthusiastic about developing sustainable tourism in Indonesia and is eager to provide local authorities with suggestions to maintain the pristine condition of local reefs. Every day on board, Herry ensures the highest standards of hospitality and loves nothing more than to share his immense knowledge of the Indonesian Seas.

Juvens, our outstanding dive instructor and cruise director, hails from the mountains of Flores in the Sunda Islands, near the renowned Komodo National Park. Having taught himself to swim, he became involved in the boating and diving world very young, becoming a certified dive instructor in 2011. After years guiding and teaching in the Flores Sea, Juvens joined Pacific High in 2022 to expand his experience and explore remote Eastern Indonesian destinations. Committed to sustainable diving, he also aspires to provide locals with the same opportunities he once received. His professional and cheery demeanor promise unparalleled experiences for all aboard Pacific High yachts, whether beginners or seasoned divers.

Darmin, our exceptional dive instructor and cruise director, grew up in a fisherman’s family where the ocean was his natural playground. In 2001, a significant event occurred when Darmin participated in the Indonesia Coral Ambassador program in Jakarta as one of East Nusa Tenggara’s student representatives. There, he learned about the importance of coral reefs and signed an Agreement Charter on reef conservation. His love for the ocean became even stronger. With the support of his former high school teacher, who always saw great potential in him, Darmin started as a boat captain. This introduction to the tourism industry transformed his life. Committed to sustainable diving, Darmin aims to provide locals with the same opportunities he once received. His professional and enthusiastic demeanor ensures unforgettable experiences for every guests onboard.

The epitome of nautical versatility – Captain Ariadi worked for years on tugboats and fishing boats all around the world, before joining the world of luxury cruise boats with Pacific High. Born into a family of sailors and carpenters in South Sulawesi, his self-discipline, natural leadership and ability to maintain focus make him an especially accomplished shipmaster. Captain Ariadi is in charge of operations and maintenance aboard Senja, working to the highest standard of excellence. Under his expert leadership, everything is always shipshape thanks to excellent communication with his crew and the cruise directors.

With roots in Bira, South Sulawesi, the cradle of Phinisi boat-building, Captain Karyona’s life has been shaped by boats. A natural leader, he has worked in positions of responsibility over the last 20 years, sailing all around South-East Asian waters to some of the most remote places in Indonesia. Proud Captain of Nataraja since 2017, he has expertly steered his ship to the last frontiers of the Indonesian Seas, including the Forgotten Islands, Banda Sea, Triton Bay, Raja Ampat and Sumbawa. He welcomes all our guests with a sincere smile and ensures the highest safety standards throughout the journey.

Originally from Sumbawa in the Sunda Islands, Captain Adhi has over 30 years’ experience sailing the Indonesian seas, amassing invaluable maritime knowledge that only decades at sea can teach. Embarking on their journey at Pacific High together, Captain Adhi has been with Dewata from the very beginning, from the moment her hull touched the water during launch, through her maiden voyage to Raja Ampat. He has therefore developed a uniquely intimate knowledge of his vessel and upholds the highest standards of maintenance for Dewata. In addition to being an accomplished sailor with an acute understanding of the ocean, he is also a skilled artist, painter, carpenter, and singer.

Born in Ara, the birthplace of Indonesian boat-building, Irwan has followed in the footsteps of his ancestors. He began learning the trade from his uncle in 1990, and has since worked on some 40 projects across Sulawesi, Surabaya, Lombok and Bali, developing a stellar reputation as a master boat builder in South Sulawesi. Thanks to a special relationship based on trust, communication, and loyalty, Irwan has been Yann’s right-hand man since 2013, managing the construction and workers in the shipyard with the utmost skill. Embodying the past, present and future of Pacific High, Pak Irwan has built every ship in our fleet, with plenty more to come.

With boat-building coursing through his veins, Tani began learning the trade from his father in Ara. With two decades of experience under his belt, he has been involved in the construction of close to 20 boats. He has been working as Pak Irwan’s assistant for 7 years, soaking up all the experience so that he may one day become a manager himself. Creative and detail-oriented, the way Tani works wood verges on magical, carving and shaping it as if it were as pliable as dough. A fast worker who demonstrates great intelligence, we are proud to continue expanding our fleet with him.

Raised in Lembeh, North Sulawesi, Juben’s childhood dream of navigating the Indonesian archipelago came true in 1994, when he began his career in yacht technical management. He worked for several renowned liveaboard companies, acquiring a profound understanding of the technical intricacies of yachts, and ensuring the seamless operation of machinery, dive equipment and all systems on board.
In 2021, Juben joined the Pacific High team, overseeing the engineering aspects of boat construction projects, working closely with our Fleet Director to manage the dry-dockings and maintenance periods for all our yachts, occasionally providing support at sea. Juben’s cheerfulness and unwavering commitment make him an invaluable asset to our team.

Ayu brings valuable expertise to her role as Pacific High’s Warehouse & Shipyard Logistics Manager. With a keen eye for detail and a strong background in inventory management, supply chain coordination, and process optimization, she ensures seamless operations. Her experience in retail and journalism sharpens her communication and negotiation skills, making her adept at managing diverse projects. Always curious, Ayu is pursuing a degree in Communication Science to further refine her skills and enhance her contributions to the team.
